Okay, picture this: a glorious September day in Squamish. A perfect day for Cheakamus Centre wedding!


With the sun beaming down, a light breeze tickling your skin, and love in the air! It was the perfect setting for Heather and Dirk’s wedding. Which was a celebration of their love and bringing together of all their people.

Dirk, who hails from Germany, is a true Birkenstock aficionado, so it was no surprise that the bridal party all wore the comfy leather and cork sandals. Even the photographers got in on the fun and sported the popular sandals. Not knowing it was a thing! It was the comfiest wedding shoe ever, and it made everyone feel united in their shoe game.


The Cheakamus Centre provided the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. The property was surrounded by trees and ferns. Making it feel like the wedding was taking place in a mystical woodland. The bride and groom exchanged vows in the heart of the forest. With the soft rustling of the leaves and the chirping of birds in the background. It was an enchanting moment. An truly amazing ceremony to capture in photos.


As the day turned into night, the wedding party kicked off their shoes and danced the night away under the stars.


All the guests were still going strong after some epic, interactive speeches. And it made the party even more fun and up-beat. It was like everyone was part of one big happy family, and the love and laughter were infectious.

Heather and Dirk’s Cheakamus Centre wedding was one for the ages, and it will be remembered as a day of love, laughter, and of course, the Birkenstocks. It was a reminder that the simplest things in life, like comfy sandals and the beauty of nature, can bring so much joy and happiness.
